Frances Mabel Hollams (1877-1963), "Sambo" and "Mischief", each signed and titled, one dated '39, a pair, oil on board, 33.5 x 45cm, 13.25 x 17.75in (2). Condition report: The paintings are both in very good, original condition. On one of the paintings there are a few minor surface scratches across the board. The paintings are both framed and glazed.

•FRANCES MABEL HOLLAMS SWA (BRITISH 1877-1963) DIANA, ITALIAN CAMPAIGN- 1943-1945 Oil on panel, signed and inscribed with title recto, 40.5 x 33cm (16 x 13") Condition Report: There are two small pieces of panel missing, each horizontal running and approximately no more than one centimetre in length, at the top left corner and the left edge at middle. The wood panel surface has a horizontal grain and there are signs of small horizontal crack lines most apparent along the left edge. The painting has a small number of randomly spread light stains, scratches and abrasions to the surface being more noticeable in the upper half section.

Footnotes Major Rook won the first European Championship at Badminton on Starlight XV in 1953 and subsequently won a gold medal in the three-day event at the Stockholm Olympic Games in 1956.
