Robert Hills, O.W.S. (1769-1844) A farmyard scene with four piglets pen and grey ink, grey wash 8 x 10½ in. (20.3 x 26.8 cm.) Leonard G. Duke, C.B.E. (D3160). with Heather Newman, Painswick, Gloucestershire. Leonard Duke (1890-1971) was an avid collector of Golden AgeBritish watercolours. During his lifetime he gave away many workson paper, and the remains of his substantial collection, of whichthere was still a great deal, was offered in 1351 lots over sevensales at Sotheby's between 1970-1971.
