contains 1 item(s).
Lady Eastlake, the wife of Sir Charles
Eastlake, the Director of the National Gallery of Art in London
and, for the first two years of its existence, president of the
Photographic Society of London, proved herself an inspired and
independent historian and analyst of the infant medium of
photography in her 1857 essay on ````Photography' published in the
Quarterly Review
(London, April 1857, pp. 442-68).
