GIOVANNI GIACOMETTI (1868-1933) Am Brunnen, um 1912/15 unten links monogrammiert 'GG', rückseitig signiert 'Giovni Giacometti' Öl auf Leinwand 50 x 60 cm Privatbesitz, Schweiz Paul Müller/Viola Radlach, Giovanni Giacometti, Werkkatalog der Gemälde, Zürich 1997, Nr. 1912.33 mit Abbildung und S. 395 mit Abbildung Im Jahre 1909 erbte Annetta, die Frau des Künstlers, in Capolago Maloja ein Haus. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt verbrachte die Familie Giacometti ihre Sommertage in diesem Ferienhaus am Silsersee. An einem dieser Sommertage in Capolago Maloja malte Giovanni den Holzbrunnen mit den Wäscherinnen. In 1909, Annetta, the wife of the artist, inherited a house in Capolago Maloja. From then on, the Giacometti family spent their summer days in this vacation home on Lake Sils. On one of these summer days in Capolago Maloja, Giovanni painted the wooden fountain with the laundrywomen.

Giovanni Giacometti, 1868 Stampa - 1933 Gilion DUDUJA, 1928 Öl auf Leinwand. 110 x 80 cm. Rechts unten monogrammiert „GG“. Auf der Rückseite bezeichnet: „Giovni Giacometti 1928 Maloja“. Gerahmt. Frau in bulgarischer Tracht an einen Stuhl lehnend im Wintergarten eines Hauses mit Blick auf ein atmosphärisches Bergpanorama (wahrscheinlich Maloja, wo die Familie gerne Urlaub machte). Ein geblümter Vorhang links und eine geöffnete Tür mit Fensterglas rechts umrahmen die Darstellung der farbenfroh gekleideten Frau. Giovanni Giacometti, Vater von Alberto und Diego, führte zusammen mit dem Maler Cuno Amiet, den Malstil des Post-Impressionismus in die Schweizer Kunst ein. Den Sommer verbrachte er mit seiner Familie regelmäßig in Capolago bei Maloja, wo auch dieses Bild entstand. Es zeigt eine junge Frau - wahrscheinlich seine Tochter Ottilia (1904-1937, siehe WVZ 1969) - in bulgarischer Tracht an einen Stuhl lehnend im Wintergarten des Hauses mit Blick auf ein atmosphärisches Bergpanorama. The scene is framed by a curtain with a floral pattern on the left and an open door leading to the conservatory on the right. Giovanni Giacometti, father of Alberto and Diego, introduced post-Impressionism to Swiss art. The painting shows a young woman, believed to be his daughter Ottilia (1904-1937, see Köhler 1969), in a traditional Bulgarian costume leaning on a chair in the conservatory of a house, very likely to be the Giaco-mettis” cottage in Capolago, Maloja, where they often spent their holidays.
