Lot 683 HORATIO BEEVOR LOVE (fl. 1800-1813) Pencil and watercolour portrait of J.B.Crome, seated gentleman in an elbow chair, unsigne, labelled on verso with extract from Benezit, cutting and inscription, ex Parker Gallery London, 20 cm x 16 cm,framed, ILLUSTRATEDNB - The artist was born in Norwich where he exhibited and listed as a portrait painter at Pottersgate, Norwich. Among his other sitters were John Sell Cotman and James Stark. Examples of his work are in the National Portrait Gallery, Victoria and Albert Museum.

Description:
Willard Wigan - (Bn 1957) - A hand carved sculptural figure of a young girl worked from the head of a cocktail stick, height 5mm, mounted to a supporting bar and contained within a glazed box frame, signed to the mount. Willard Wigan MBE is a sculptor from Birmingham who makes microscopic art. Many of his minute sculptures are created in the eye of a needle or placed on the head of a pin. Work can be as small as 0.005mm (0.0002in) and some of his most recent works do not exceed the size of a human blood cell. In July 2007 Willard Wigan was honoured by HRH the Prince of Wales with an MBE for his services to art.
