British India Selection of various subjects of India » enlarge Photographer: Lala Deen Dayal (1844 - 1905). Selection of various subjects and views of India. 1870s. 22 albumen prints and 8 collotypes. Most circa 27 x 21 cm and smaller. Most mounted and some annotated in pencil mount verso. The images include: Patal Pani Waterfall, Railway before tunnel, Fatihpur Sikri interior and Temple of Tejpal at Girnar, Lord and Lady Curzon coming down from "Jhoola", palace at Udaipur (Rajasthan). – Some faded, especially in edges, some light handling marks/ surface scuff marks, otherwise in good condition. Description:

Portraits of Princes and Chiefs of India. 1880s. 5 carbon prints. Each circa 24,5 x 19,5 cm. On original mounts with identifying captions within printed borders.

The portraits include: the Late Maharaja of Hutwa, the Raja of Rajgarh, the Maharaja of Charkhari, the Raj Saheb of Wankaner and the Thakore Saheb of Kotda Sangani. They are from Princes and Chiefs of India. A collection of biographies, published with a text by Jehangir Sorabji (London, Waterlow 1903) which contained 85 carbon prints. – Prints in very good condition.
