Description: DANCHIN, Leon, (French, 1887-1939): Ducks in Flight, Color Etching, sight size 15.5" x 23", pencil signed lower right, pencil numbered 303/500 lower left, framed 25" x 30.5". Danchin attended L'Ecole des Beaux to study sculpture and became accepted to the Salon des Artists at the young age of 16. With his taste for wildlife and landscape, he became well known in the art community as creating some of the finest works of the canine species with his attention to detail and expression.
Condition Report: Mild toning, visible wrinkling in the margins, not examined out of frame, sold as is.

Five colored etchings on BFK Rives
English Setter and Duck, Ducks in Marsh, English Setters in the Field, along with two others
ca. 1930s (unframed)
Each pencil signed in the lower margin
Each: 22" x 30" (sheet)
Each sheet with four deckled edges. Sheets have been stored rolled for an extended period of time. Handling marks and soft creases to sheets, particularly at the edges. Some sheeets have hard creases at the corners. Colors appear relatively strong. In addition to the pencil signature there are pencil notations (titles in French) and numbers on the edges of the sheets. Some sheets have areas of discoloration in margins. French titles read as follows: Pointers en Plaine, Vol de Canards, Canards au Marais, Setters en Plaine, Setter et Canard Franche (?).
