Lot Notes
The railway bridge in the painting Aan den omval, Amsterdam frames the area behind it: The south east of Amsterdam and the cultivation on and behind the Ringdijk, Watergraafsmeer or Weesperzijde. The railway bridge in the present painting dates from around the 1840's. In this work Meijer literally captured history, today we see a different iron railway bridge that was build in 1974.
