CATALOGUE NOTE
Born in Russia in 1897, Chaprio left home at a very early age to
study art independently. After the revolution, he collaborated with
Vachtangov in the production of The Dybbuk. His style
developed from Cubism and Constructivism towards a more realistic
manner. He settled in Paris in 1925 where he developed a passion
for French painting and became a prominent member of the School of
Paris.
