William Callow, R.W.S. (Greenwich 1812-1908 Great Missenden) View of St Agnes's Church signed and dated 'W. Callow 1853.' (lower right) pencil and watercolour 9 x 13 in. (22.8 x 33 cm.); and A watercolour of figures before farm buildings by Callow (2) (1) with Heather Newman Gloucestershire. Callow travelled extensively on the Continent during 1853 but in the early autumn he was back in England and visited Richmond in Yorkshire, followed by Manchester in order to view the Art Treasures Exhibition, ending his trip in Chester, which he described as a 'delightfully interesting city'.
