Med dedikation "Med tack till Kapten Lilliestierna för den angenäma jaktresan 1922 tillsammans. Indiska Ocean i augusti, John Sten."
John Sten reste 1922 tillsammans med sin hustru Valborg från Göteborg till Java med transatlantics M/s Tisnaren. Färden gick från Göteborg den 17 juli vidare till Hamburg, Gibraltar, över medlehavet till Port Said, genom Suez-kanalen tills Suez, genom Röda havet till Perim, över Indiska oceanen till Sumatras norra sida, Belawan Deli och till Batavia på Java. Under resan tog Sten upp arbetet med akvarellerna från "Komposition, Samsö" och omarbetade dem, nu med en fond med ett landskap från Lunnevik. En av akvarellerna tillägnade han fartygets kapten Bertil Lilliestierna, det aktuella katalognumret.
