178 W. SMITHSON BROADHEAD (1888-1960) SEA BREEZES AND SUNSHINE AT LYTHAM ST. ANNES. Circa 1930. 38 3/4x48 1/2 inches, 98 1/2x48 1/2 cm. Jordison & Co. Ltd., London. Condition A-: minor creases, abrasions and slight darkening at edges; unobtrusive speckling at edges and in image. Mounted on paper. One of at least two posters the artist designed for this seaside resort north of Liverpool. The other, similarly featuring a beautiful young woman raising her arms to the sky. Here, a windswept golfer is playing through a sandtrap in view of the Lytham Windmill. rare. We could find only three copies at auction since 1992. Not in Furness vol. 6.
