Hercules Brabazon Brabazon (1821-1906) watercolour and gouache, 'Aquilla', initialled, 8.5 x 11.5in. Watercolour on buff paper, overall in good untouched condition, most apparent dirt specks are on the glass but there is one small spot in the top left corner, initialled lower right, one small scuff? mark below the H which is actually in the paint rather than a scratch, loosely mounted in a modern white card mount and modern gilt frame, original label from Walkers Galleries verso along with remnant of title label from an old mount. Hercules Brabazon Brabazon (British, 1821-1906) Santa Maria della Salute, Venice sight, 10 1/2 x 14in Santa Maria della Salute, Venice signed with initials 'HBB' (lower right) pencil and watercolor sight, 10 1/2 x 14in PROVENANCE: with J. Leger & Son, London; Charles de Limur, purchased from the above, 19 July 1949. Property from the Estate of Charles and Eleanor de Limur, San Francisco. Items from the collection the de Limur's started two generations ago. Most were acquired during the de Limur's long tenure living in Paris at the Palais Royale in the 1960's.
