Frederick William Booty (British 1840-1924): The Scarborough Pageant, watercolour signed and dated 1912, 82cm x 63cm Provenance and Notes: private collection purchased H C Chapman & Son 30th Jan. 1996 from the estate of Eric Plaxton of Scarborough. The Pageant took place over four days in July and repeated in August, it depicted two millennia of Scarborough's history 500 BC- 1800 AD. The Pageant involved about 1,300 performers and a further 500 in it's organisation, the huge production ended up making a loss of about £2,000 Condition Report Click here for further images, condition, auction times & delivery costs
