Lot 1060: Hans Bollinger, attributed to, Still Life with Roses and Fruit on a Table Description: Remains of a signature to the lower right: "A"This still life with flowers and fruit was long ascribed to Abraham Susenier, an artist active in The Hague and Dordrecht. However, Fred Meijer has since convincingly attributed it to Hans Bollinger. The use of a diagonal composition and the finely detailed depiction of the various items in the work are typical of the Haarlem based painter. A wine glass formerly visible in the left half of the image was a later addition designed to make the diagonal composition appear more harmonious. The addition was later removed, but can still be seen in older illustrations of the work, such as that in the database of the Rijksbureau voor kunsthistorische Dokumentatie in The Hague (RKD no. 197206).
