PAUL EMILE BERTON (French, 1872-1909) "JUIN ENVIRONS DE MELUN". Large oil on canvas mounted to board salon painting shows two women in country dress in a flower and grass field with small trees. The expansive scene shows distant low hills under a bright sun and cloud sky. Signed lower left "P E Berton 1881". Housed in a large period gesso decorated gold frame with wide double gold liner having a metal artist and title plaque. SIZE: 36" x 47-3/4". PROVENANCE: From a large Boston, MA area Estate. CONDITION: In need of restoration and cleaning, generally good with no visible tears or rips. 9-99306 (1,500-3,000)
