The première of
Sadko
was held at the Théâtre des Champs-Ãlysées in 1930. In
Reminiscences of the Russian Ballet
(Putnam, 1947), Benois records that he was given a standing ovation when the curtain went up.

These two costume designs are for an unrealised production of Sleeping Beauty intended for La Scale, Milan in 1953. Music by I. Tchaikovsky, choreography by M. Petipa.

Male: There is a small tear on the edge in the lower left edge, approximately 1/2 inch. There is an 1 1/2 tear to the edge at the upper right edge. Hinged with two pieces of tape at the upper edge an upper right and left side. Light creasing and crinkling throughout.
Female: Hinged with two pieces of tape at the upper edge an upper right and left side. Light creasing and crinkling throughout.
