Scattered spots of inpainting in the corners and along the bottom edge. Few small spots of inpainting in lower center in window of the church; another few spots at center right in the sky. HENRI ALPHONSE BARNOIN (french1882-1940) HARBOR SCENE Signed 'H. Barnoin' bottom right, oil on canvas 26 x 32 in. (66 x 81.3cm) Galerie Georges Petit, Paris, France. Private Collection, Connecticut. Excellent original condition; some variations in surface hue,including to some localized areas of the water and part of a sailat right appear due to either varnish or pigment, but not due torestoration. In water at lower center left - as seen in cataloguephoto - there is a small diagonal surface scratch, whitish in color- this area of the canvas is NOT torn. At part of left most boat(without figures), there is a small area of surface crazing. Partof canvas displays some minor, uneven surface rippling,particularly at upper left.

He was especially captivated by scenes of Brittany. Henri Barnoin debuted in the Salon in 1909 with a selection of marine oils and a series of watercolours of Paris scenes.
