Nijinsky danced the title role of Narcisse in costumes designedby Léon Bakst at the Paris premiere on 6 June 1911 at the Théâtredu Châtelet. The first performance of Le Tragédie de Salomé took place on 12June 1913 at the Théâtre des Champs Élysées with Tamara Karsavinadancing the role of Salomé.
