A corner of Auerbach's Studio; Head of a bearded man in a beret,
etchings with drypoint on paper, both signed and dated in pencil, '49 and '58, 210 x 115mm., and 125 x 90mm., respectively; with the 2 original copper plates by Auerbach for the above prints; and with the original plate 'The Flood', 290 x 510mm., all unframed, with a copy of Elizabeth Harvey-Lee's 'Arnold Auerbach' catalogue (6).

address on a Ben Uri Society, London label on the reverse
black ink wash on brown tinted paper

NB
Arnold Auerbach was a sculptor, etcher and painter. Born in
Liverpool of Polish extraction, he attended the Liverpool School of
Art, and after war service, studied in Paris and Switzerland. He
moved to London in 1921 where he shared a studio with the painter
Robert Arthur Wilson and exhibited at the Chenil Gallery and Royal
Academy. He settled in a studio in Hampstead and in the 1940's
taught at Regent Street Polytechnic. Subsequently he was at Chelsea
School of Art until his retirement in 1964. Tate Britain hold two
of his sculptures.
