Description: FERNANDO CUETO AMORSOLO (filipino 1892-1972)/span LAVANDERAS Signed, located, and dated 'F. Amorsolo/ Manila 1930' bottom left, oil on canvasboard 16 x 19 3/4 in. (40.6 x 50.2cm) provenance: /spanPrivate Collection, Maine. By descent in the family of the present owner since circa 1970s. Condition Report: Fine overall condition apart from very slight, isolated spots of retouch. The board is slightly bowed outward. There are some varnish inconsistencies. Frame: 21 3/4 x 25 1/2 in. Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. He authored the book "I Discover the Orient," based on his life in the Far East in The 1920's. The Fletcher Brockman collection is at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
