Condition Erica Allen (b. 1980) was raised in Oakland, CA. She received her BA in Fine Art from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2003 and completed her MFA from the School of Visual Arts, Photography, Video and Related Media program in 2008. Erica currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Erica Allen uses photography to explore questions of identity, projected meaning and visual interpretation through digital interventions of familiar photographic genres. Her Untitled Gentleman project is a series of fictional, composite portraits created using discarded studio photographs along with anonymous faces from barbershop hairstyle posters. ?This photograph is in excellent condition.
