Blindarte: Modern And Contemporary Art Auction

Blindarte modern and contemporary art auction n.33 will take place in Naples, december 18 2008, the first session starting at 4pm and the second session at 8.30 pm, this auction will offer more than 430 interesting artworks .
We would like to take this opportunity to let you know a few of the highlights of this auction: Giorgio de Chirico “Cavalli in riva al mare” (oil on panel signed), realized in 1948 . The painting, exhibited in many Japanese museums like Chiba Perfectural Museum of art, Giappone; Teien Museum, Tokyo; Navio Museum, Osaka; Fukuyama Museum, Hiroshima, comes with impeccable provenance form various important collections and it is estimated 80.000/120.000 euros.
Together with the above, will be auctioned an Alberto Savinio mixed media on havy cardboard, estimated 35000/45000 euro. The artwork signed Savinio, pseudonym of Alberto de Chirico, Giorgio’s brother, is an interesting example of artist’s polyhedral nature, able to express himself with equal success through painting, essay writing and musical and theater composition.
A masterpiece from the early thirties by Emilio Notte, painting, exhibited in 1932 in Venice Biennial and in 1936 in Rome Quadriennial is titled “Nello studio” is estimated 18.000/22.000 euro.
Also a small drawing by Umberto Boccioni and a painting by Fortunato Depuro will be auctioned and a very rare figurative drawing by Yves Tanguy “Couple Apache” from 1925 and estimated 10.000/15.000 euro.
We are also exited to offer painting by Renato Guttuso, titled “Pergolato con viti” realized in Torre del Greco the 1st of august 1951, and valuated 22.000/26.000 euro.
Between the internationally renown artworks we have to highlihght  three silkscreens by American Pop-Art protagonists: Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtestein. In the evening session will be bidden Warhol’s most famous “Marylin Monroe” realized in 1967 and “Vesuvius”, extraordinary pop icons, both coming from Lucio Amelio Gallery, Naples and estimated 40.000/60.000 euro each. Roy Lichtenstein will be present in auction with “Reverie” famous silkscreen edited in 200 exemplares in1965 and included in the celebrated portfolio 11 POP artists, that many consider it as the American POP Art Manifesto (estimate 60.000/80.000 euro).
Included in the second session will be also 4 black and white photographs unique pieces by Robert Rauschenberg, realized during one of his journey in the ’80s in Naples.
The importance of the winter auctions session is also guaranteed by the presence of “Concetto Spaziale” a red watercolour with scratches and holes on paper by Lucio Fontana, founder of the spatial movement, and estimates 45000/65000 euro.
The artwork, a valid expression of his more original invention: scratches and holes, was made in 1968 following his sculptorial origins, and searching for a third dimension.
“Immagine del tempo” by Emilio Vedova, a rare oil on cardboard painted in 1959 and estimated at 50.000/70.000 euro.
The auction will also include artworks by Mimmo Rotella, Alighiero Boetti, Mario Schifano, Tano Festa, Franco Angeli, Gianni Dova, Giulio Turcato, Carla Accardi, Piero Dorazio, Antonio Sanfilippo, Mimmo Paladino, Sandro Chia, Nicola De Maria, Pier Paolo Calzolari, Michelangelo Pistoletto.
And then Louise Nevelson, Man Ray, Arman, Hermann Nitsch, Jannis Kounellis, Matta and many others.
We would also like to point out “Palette Roland Topor” an assemblage by Daniel Spoerri created in 1990 in Parigi (estimate 35.000/45.000 euro). The artist reached the celebrity with the tableaux-pièges realized during his residences in Paris.
Particoular attention will be placed on the artwork by Julian Schnabel, an acrylic on canvas mattress made in 1987 as an homage to the celebrated artist Diego Rivera and coming from Tony Shafrazi gallery, estimated 70.000/90.000 euro.
As usual, the auction will present a large number of artworks by italian and international astists that are rapidly becoming more successful and their valuations keep on rising, like Vik Muniz, Andrea Zittel, David Salle, Ross Bleckner, Gregory Crewdson, Li Wei, Yasumasa Moritura, Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, Wolgang Tillmans, Roni Horn, Timothy Greenfield-Sanders.
Rich also the presence of Japanese artists like Suzuki, Shimamoto, AY-O, and others.
Part of the auction will be dedicated to emerging artists, often coming in auction for the first time, that may represent real opportunies for buyers.
